An innovative fall season

September 16, 2024 – Calcul Québec announces an enriched training season, marked by the arrival of a new training coordinator and two new training series on quantum computing.

New training coordinator

After several years of successfully coordinating training courses for Calcul Québec, Charles Coulombe passes the torch to Caroline Baril, bringing with her a wealth of experience in cancer research, research data management, and applied computer science.
“I’m delighted to take on this new challenge. Charles has done an outstanding job so far and has put in place many good practices”
— Caroline Baril, Training Coordinator for Calcul Québec
Building on the solid foundation already in place, the training offerings will be enhanced in the coming months. In particular, we’ll be integrating courses over several weeks, adapting the training offer to a more beginner audience and introducing e-Learning.

Two series of training courses on quantum computing

Strong interest in quantum computing has guided our programming for the autumn. To better meet the needs of the research and innovation community, we have added series of courses on quantum computing to our calendar. In addition to introductory and advanced sessions on research data processing and high-performance computing, we are offering training sessions dedicated to quantum computing. A first series of courses will be offered in October on quantum computing theory, followed by a second series in November on quantum programming.

Once again this year, Calcul Québec is reinventing itself and remains attentive to its community. It is at the heart of its mission to serve research and innovation by providing access to the skills necessary to use various technological tools.
